Ms. Hwang Eui-jin, 3rd grader at Hongcheon Girls’ High School [Kangwon Ilbo]

For the first time in 69 years since its opening, Hongcheon Girls’ High School produced students accepted to Seoul National University’s Department of Pre-Medicine. In particular, this student attracts attention as he is known as a ‘three-time medical school winner’ who was simultaneously accepted into the medical school admissions process at Seoul National University, Yonsei University, and Korea University.

According to the Gangwon Ilbo on the 16th, Hwang Ui-jin, a third-year student at Hongcheon Girls’ High School, achieved success in this rolling recruitment by utilizing the rural selection system.

Hwang Yang is a Hongcheon native. She was born in Hongcheon and graduated from Namsan Elementary School and Hongcheon Girls’ Middle School. When I was a student at Hongcheon Girls’ Middle School, I did not miss out on ranking first in the entire school, but I did not blindly go to a special purpose high school or private high school, but instead chose a local high school.

I got enough sleep, and instead of doing too much good deeds, I built my own sustainable study method by pre-studying for 1-2 semesters and reviewing the content during class.

He also showed passion by taking 4-5 hour buses from Hongcheon, where there is no railway, to Seoul and taking classes at private institutes.

The school’s reading and discussion activities were also actively utilized. In this process, I not only read books in the life sciences field, but also thought about the areas I wanted to research in the future and kept records.

The family environment also played a role in winning three medical school honors. Ms. Hwang’s parents, who run an academy, decorated their home like a library and created an environment familiar with books.
