What is different about the Paladins of Diablo 4?

The Paladins and Dia Immortals of Dia 2, and the Crusaders of Dia 3 are all combat weapons that follow the teachings of Akarat of Zakarum and serve the light.

However, the Paladins of Dia 2 belong to Zakarum and are in the form of an army that moves as a group, while the Crusaders of Dia Immortal and Dia 3 belong to Zakarum but have the characteristics of mercenaries who move independently.

Additionally, while the Paladins of Diablo 2 have a system where they are trained as a group like an army, the Crusaders have only one disciple for their entire life and pass everything on to that disciple, and when the Crusader falls, the disciple takes over the Crusader’s armor and shield and becomes a new Crusader.

However, both groups have significant disadvantages. The Paladins of Diablo 2 have weakened greatly due to the division of Zakarum due to Mephisto, and the Crusaders’ method of raising future generations takes too long and it is difficult to continue their legacy.

This is the reason why Paladins did not appear in Dia Immortal and Dia 3, and because the Crusaders who noticed Zakarum’s corruption in advance took independent action, the Crusaders appeared in Dia 3 without being corrupted.

So, the Paladins of Dia 4 have regained their former glory?

Although they were named Paladins, they are actually a new group called “Guardians of Light.” It’s like a paladin in WoW. Tauren paladins are actually sun guides, and blood elf paladins are blood elves, but they are all called paladins.

They have a system that seems to be a mixture of paladins and crusaders, and are trained like an army, but they do not belong to Zakarum and move independently and do not serve Akarat.

Also, like the church in reality, anyone, even a serious criminal, can be trained as a paladin and become a paladin if they repent. In other words, it does not look at the origin.

It is said that a person from Zakarum founded the Church of the Sentinels of Light, and like the light of Akarat, they only follow the true light, not the doctrines filtered by someone, and watch over evil. Their belief is also “not to repeat the mistakes of corrupt leaders,” and they act independently without being tied to large denominations such as Zakarum. That’s why I also use the crusader’s flail.

The Sentinels of Light, who combine the Paladins and Crusaders, use both the Paladin skills from Dia 2 and the Crusader skills from Dia 3, and follow the five major virtues along with the light as their discipline.

The five virtues are

Archangel of Valor, Archangel of Justice, Archangel of Hope, Archangel of Fate, Archangel of Wisdom

In other words, it follows the virtues corresponding to the roles of the five archangels.

In addition, unlike the previous Paladins, they even take the form of angels, so it is suspected that a person who has seen the Paladins of Dia 2 and the Crusaders of Dia 3 from the side has founded a new sect called the Sentinels of Light with someone with great intentions in Zakarum.

When it comes to devils, there are only three in hell. Dia of fear, Baal of destruction, Kikago all over the country!

Additionally, Akarat’s setting is a complex character.

His motif while alive was not Jesus, but Muhammad of Islam, and his actions before his death and after his resurrection as the host of Mephisto were taken as the motif of Jesus, and the motif of the Antichrist was also taken as the host of Mephisto.

Akarat was not born as the son of God, but received revelation from an archangel and walked the path of a prophet, leaving behind a religious order called Zakarum.

This part is the same as Muhammad, who received revelation from Archangel Gabriel, walked the path of a prophet, and left behind the Quran and Islam. Both Muhammad and Akarat are called prophets.

Afterwards, he became the shepherd of light, and after death and resurrection, Jesus became his motif throughout his life.

This can be seen more clearly in Mephisto’s monologue while taking on Akarat’s body.

“”Oh, Akarat. Beloved shepherd of light.

I took care of you forever…

In the end, you were betrayed. And that too to your flock.

It’s pitiful… Now, a new wolf will be born.

In my human guise, I will walk among innocent lambs.

Salvation will no longer be found in the light.”

After Diablo 4’s first expansion pack, the Vessel of Hatred, the actions of Mephisto wearing the shell of Akarat were published in comics. Mephisto travels throughout Sanctuary and performs miracles just like Jesus did in the Bible.

However, this was Mephisto’s plan to enslave the humans of the sanctuary as the devil’s slaves and cause them pain. His identity was revealed by the Guardians of Light, and he took on the form of the devil, which became the motif of the Antichrist.

Therefore, Akarat can be viewed as a comprehensive set of Abrahamic lines that mixes Judaism, Catholicism, and Islam.

I wrote this because a certain YouTuber kept saying that Akarat only used Jesus as its motif.

Oh, of course I don’t believe in that kind of Bible nonsense.
