“”China installs 13 buoys in the West Sea… “Expanding sovereignty through gray zone tactics”
There are concerns in the US that China is attempting to ‘inland sea’ in the West Sea of Korea as well as in the Taiwan Strait, South China Sea, and East China Sea. Last October, it was belatedly revealed through a CSIS report that China mobilized its coast guard and engaged in a prolonged standoff with our marine research vessel.
The West Sea is being consumed by China in the same way as the South China Sea, whose sovereignty was lost to China. The United States is also taking it seriously.
The structure being installed is also large in scale.
