Entertainment company Billy Bean Music (CEO Billy Kim) has taken full legal action against its artist Dabin Yoo.

Billy Bean Music announced on the 10th, “We are filing a ‘application for a provisional injunction banning entertainment activities’ against our artist Yoo Da-bin, and are also proceeding with a lawsuit claiming damages worth 300 million won for breach of contract.” This is a separate case from the ongoing criminal complaint against MPMG, an external force, regarding tampering, and the purpose is to hold the artist civilly liable for violating his/her exclusive contract and engaging in tampering.

Billy Kim, CEO of Billy Bean Music, revealed the specific unfair demands that Yoo Da-bin requested from his current agency, Billy Bean Music, through the YouTube channel ‘Billy Show’.

According to data released by CEO Kim, despite the remaining contract period, Yoo Dabin’s side presented unreasonable amendments that ignored the existing contract, such as paying an additional 40 million won in down payment and refusing to hold a performance with more than 200 seats.

The most controversial part is the demand for ‘introduction of MPMG employees.’ The request to hire employees from another agency that may be in competition with the current agency is a condition that cannot be accepted based on common sense in the industry. Regarding this, CEO Kim said, “The company tried to coordinate by making several concessions, but in the end, this was not a simple request for improved treatment, but a process of intentionally leading to the termination of the contract by colluding with external forces attempting to tamper with it.”

Bilibean Music filed a lawsuit for 300 million won in damages, demanding compensation for damages caused by Yoo Da-bin violating the exclusive contract and taking independent action by agreeing with MPMG’s tampering. In addition, we will also file a claim for refund of profits generated during the period of contract violation.

CEO Billy Kim emphasized that “Yoo Da-bin is an artist with a valid exclusive contract with Bilibean Music,” and added, “”This lawsuit is intended not only to recover the company’s enormous financial damage, but also to sound a strong wake-up call to the industry so that musicians who break faith and sympathize with tampering will never appear again.”
