(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Ok Seong-gu = Starting next year, the upper limit of pre- and post-natal leave benefits paid to working mothers who use leave before and after childbirth will rise to 2.2 million won per month.

This is a measure to prevent a reversal in which the lower limit exceeds the upper limit due to the minimum wage increase next year. This is the first increase in the upper limit in three years.

On the 10th, the Ministry of Employment and Labor gave an administrative notice of a revision to the ‘Notice on the Ceiling Amount of Prenatal and Postnatal Leave Benefits, etc.’ containing these contents.

Workers enrolled in employment insurance are entitled to 90 days of prenatal and postnatal leave before and after childbirth. Premature babies can be born up to 100 days, and twins can be born up to 120 days.
