Chinese MMORPG that can fool NPCs with AI

It is said that users who were playing ‘Yanun’, an MMORPG game made in China, learned that AI was used in the dialogue system while talking to NPCs, and found a way to use AI’s loopholes to trick NPCs and complete quests without proceeding with the quest.

For example, NPCs tend to display actions or emotional expressions in parentheses during conversation. You can use this to fool the AI by entering actions in parentheses that you did not actually perform.

If you tell an NPC that you want to find her missing brother (her two brothers suddenly appear), the NPC will believe that this actually happened and complete the quest.

Another method is the ‘Solid Snake Method’, which originated from the way the main character Solid Snake in ‘Metal Gear Solid’ imitates the other person’s words when talking. If the player repeats the NPC’s last words and asks a question, the NPC becomes confused or embarrassed and eventually just gives the quest reward.

It is not yet clear whether the developer will fix this vulnerability.
