[Breaking News] Man in his 30s sentenced to life imprisonment for taking care of nephew at funeral after sexually assaulting and murdering sister-in-law

Mr. A was indicted on charges of sexually assaulting and then murdering his sister-in-law, Mr. B (41), at an apartment in Nam-gu, Ulsan on December 5 last year. Mr. A, who married Mr. B’s older sister in 2017, developed antipathy towards his family due to conflicts with his wife and discord with his in-laws, and in the process, developed a sexual obsession with Mr. B.

Several circumstances were confirmed in which he prepared for the crime in advance, such as preparing a neck warmer, a hat, and a change of clothes to hide his identity before committing the crime, and searching words related to the crime on a portal site.

On the day of the crime, Mr. A broke into the house using a password secretly obtained from a past family gathering while Mr. B was taking his child to kindergarten. Afterwards, he overpowered Mr. B, who returned home, and attempted to sexually assault him while covering his face with a blanket. When the victim recognized his identity by shouting “”brother-in-law””, he killed Mr. B.

After committing the crime, Mr. A disguised the body of Mr. B as if he had accidentally slipped and died in the bathroom. After changing into the clothes he had prepared, he went home, cooked ramen, ate porn, and watched pornography. A few days later, he visited Mr. B’s funeral and appeared to be taking care of the children among the bereaved family.
