An update on my deceased grandfather’s memorabilia.

The box is well used as a flower pot holder.

The knives are still in good shape.

This was added to the collection a few weeks ago when my mom came back with a box of knives that she had picked up while picking up kimchi tools from my grandmother’s house (my grandfather’s house). I put the box back in the box to use when cutting fruit.

This is also a new American product.

To me, my grandfather went hiking with me when I was young, took me to art galleries, and took me to museums. Until the year he passed away, he was a man of steel stamina who would take the bus and walk seven days a week to visit antique art stores and old bookstores all over Seoul.

It’s highly likely that he was a fan of collecting knives like we collect figurines, but he traveled overseas more than expected. From what I remember, he was in charge of operational command during the 625 era, and I heard that he traveled overseas a lot while working as a journalist after the war. So, I have a lot of all kinds of cameras at home. Some of my old pictures are still at my grandmother’s house, so I’ll have to take pictures sometime.

Anyway, among the clothes I inherited, many of the various brands such as Filson, Alfred Dunhill, and Drakes were not available in Korea at the time, so I think my grandfather traveled overseas a lot.

Anyway, I will come back if I find something more novel. ㅃㅃ
