Jongmyo Shrine, UNESCO World Heritage Site in danger of being revoked

The United Kingdom, whose port in Liverpool was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, ignored UNESCO’s warnings and built a soccer field, and was stripped of its UNESCO status. Other countries, such as Germany, also have their sites stripped from UNESCO if their landscape is damaged.

Even though the soccer field said to have been built by England was 3 kilometers away from a UNESCO-listed port, they did not pay attention and withdrew the registration.

The distance between the place where Seoul plans to build a high-rise building and Jongmyo Shrine is less than 200 meters.
