It was found that nearly half of elected and appointed high-ranking public officials own two or more real estate properties.

According to data released by Leaders Index on the 18th, as a result of analyzing the wealth details of 2,581 high-ranking officials of level 4 or higher, including members of the National Assembly, 48.8%, nearly half of the total, were confirmed to be multi-homeowners who own two or more homes. In particular, these assets tend to be concentrated in Seoul, especially the three districts of Gangnam.

Among those surveyed, the person with the most money was Cho Seong-myeong, mayor of Gangnam-gu, Seoul. District Mayor Cho owned a total of 42 houses, including 1 apartment in Gangnam-gu, 38 officetels in Goyang-si, and 1 officetel in Sokcho-si under his name, as well as 2 complex buildings in Gangnam-gu under his spouse’s name.
