The Ministry of Health and Welfare plans to reform the sample testing compensation system to improve excessive discount practices.
Neighborhood clinics, which have a high proportion of sample testing consignments, are particularly opposed to the reform, especially the opening price, as it could lead to a decrease in income.
Chairman Kim emphasized, “”These three evil laws are the miserable results of the National Assembly and the government’s policy rush,” and “If the National Assembly and the government ignore the cries of medical community representatives, we will gather the anger of the 140,000 doctor members and enter into a strong all-out struggle.”
Doctors who attended the rally on this day shouted slogans such as “We condemn prescriptions with ingredient names that threaten patient safety,” “”The medical system is collapsing due to unilateral legislation being pushed forward,” and “”Withdraw the evil law that ignores patient safety.””
The attendees then marched through the People Power Party headquarters in Yeouido to the Democratic Party of Korea headquarters.
