An individual Npm package developer took down all the packages he had uploaded in response to complaints about overlapping package names.

It included an 11-line package called left-pad, but there were too many programs and web services using that package.

All of the programs and web services stopped working, and when the situation became so severe, npm was forced to restore the package.
