Sadong Palace was the residence of King Uichin, the only royal family of the Korean Empire with a history of independence movement.

After liberation, King Uichin was defrauded and the ownership of Sadong Palace was sold around, until the city of Seoul purchased part of it.

At this time, Sadonggung had become a fairy called Dawon, that is, a high-class room salon, but since the government took a strong stance to crack down on prostitution, it was pushed out without much thought.

However, it is said that when a foreigner protested and asked if he knew what history this building had, government officials brought a map from the Japanese colonial era to look at it and were puzzled.

Currently, the Sadong Palace site is operated as a parking lot.
