June 4, 1989, Tiananmen Square in the center of Beijing.
Thousands of students and citizens gathered together calling for democracy and freedom.
Their request was simple.
“A government without corruption, and the right to speak.”
But that night, the square was filled with silence.
The peaceful cries soon turned into fears, and many people disappeared on the spot.
No one knows exactly how many people lost their lives.
Records of that day have been blocked, and even now this incident cannot be discussed in China.
