Samsung says there will be an exception to 52 hours a week, even if only for 3 years

High-ranking Samsung Electronics officials went to each member of the National Assembly and appealed for urgency.
“Even if the Special Act on Semiconductors is applied, only 9% of employees are exempt from 52 hours a week.”

Samsung Electronics also proposed to the National Assembly an alternative to reduce the effect of the special law to three years instead of introducing an exception frame of 52 hours a week.
It is meaningful to introduce an institutional framework even if it means shortening the deadline for the special law that is specified to be in effect until 2035.
