On December 7th, it felt like everyone was talking about the same thing with one voice and with one heart.
There was something disappointing about the candlelight vigil held today, December 12th. The main purpose or reason is the anti-national sentiment against martial law. In addition, there were many presentations by women’s movement feminists and vegetarians that felt like they were pushing their ideals beyond the purpose for which they were gathered, so they were not as well received as the presentations by teenagers and ordinary citizens, and the atmosphere was poisoned by common words. Of course, democracy respects diversity. I understand and respect that they are able to speak at this opportunity because they have no outlet to speak, but the atmosphere is too dire if they tie it with impeachment and tie it to section 2, section 3, section 4, which should only be done in section 1. This part was a bit disappointing. Of course, everyone has their own reasons for becoming vegetarian because women’s rights are hurting the planet, but that’s not why ordinary citizens gathered, so I find it a bit uncomfortable to make appeals that are too tied together. This is a complaint I made after drinking a glass of soju after the meeting.
