Sony’s ‘Spider-Man’ universe will end with the U.S. release of the movie ‘Kraven the Hunter’ on the 13th, The Wrap reported.

In 2019, Sony expressed its policy of developing its own ‘Spider-Man’ universe by working on spin-offs of Spider-Man-related characters.

‘Morbius’ and ‘Madame Web’ continued to fail both critically and at the box office.

The ‘Venom’ series, which can be said to be the only successful series, also declined in box office receipts with the first, second, and third films, and came to an end this year.

According to Sony officials, going forward, they will move away from such spinoffs and focus on Spider-Man itself. Specifically, the fourth installment of the ‘Spider-Man’ series, co-produced with Marvel Studios, and the third installment of the animated film series, ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’. Additionally, it is said that the live-action drama series “Spider Noir” starring Nicolas Cage will continue to be given priority.
