Man in his 70s sexually assaulted and filmed 10-year-old granddaughter

Mr. A (74) was brought to trial on charges of sexually assaulting his minor granddaughter six times over a period of four years starting in February 2013, and filming and possessing the images a total of 46 times with his cell phone.

The victim, who was abandoned at a young age, suffered sexual violence from the age of 10 by her paternal grandfather, the only family member she could contact, and said she endured it because she thought it wouldn’t be a problem if she just put up with it.

This case came to the surface after the victim reported it out of fear that the defendant would come looking for her as she aged and left the shelter.
