Caffeine is known to have antidepressant effects because it increases so-called catecholamines (dopamine, norepinephrine, and epinephrine). These molecules increase motivation, alertness, and drive. A large-scale analysis suggests that regular caffeine consumption is associated with improved mood and well-being and a lower risk of depression.
It has an antidepressant effect and appears to be helpful in treating lethargy.
So, before doing something I don’t want to do, I always drink Coke Zero or coffee.
