Security checks at Hokkaido’s New Chitose Airport domestic terminal were suspended for about two hours Saturday morning, temporarily trapping hundreds of travelers.
Passengers in the departure lounge had to undergo security screening again, creating huge bottlenecks and queues.

Meanwhile, Hokkaido Airport said, “We understand that this accident was caused by a lack of storage and management systems at the store.”
“We are aware that this incident may be related to kidnapping or terrorism, and we will once again work to ensure thorough management awareness,” he said.
