An earthquake occurred on the Fairweather Fault in southern Alaska.

Near the earthquake site, there was a bay called ‘Lituya Bay’.

It looks like a fish shape.

Due to the earthquake, a huge rock fell from the red circle area.

As a result, a huge tsunami occurred in Litu Bay.

The tsunami hit the blue circle directly opposite, and its height was 524m.

This is how it happened, and by determining that the tree had fallen, it was known that the tsunami had hit up to 524m.

The bedrock has fallen away, exposing the white part inside.

It occurred at the red arrow, and the damaged area on the beach side appears white.

Perceived height of 524m

For reference, Lotte Tower is 555m.

Fortunately, it is not a place where many people live, so the number of deaths is said to be 5.
