From March to May of last year, Mr. A is accused of calling his subordinate, Mr. B, 86 times and verbally abusing him to cause fear or anxiety, threatening him 16 times, and assaulting him 4 times, including hitting him with a fist.
Mr. A called Mr. B and said, “You really have to kill ○○○. Let’s start tomorrow morning. You stupid ○○”, “I’m sorry, you ○○○”, “Every time. Mr. B ended up taking his own life on May 23rd due to the bullying that had become his daily routine.
The company the two worked for was an automobile parts company in Sokcho City, a small company with less than five employees.

Previously, the first trial court said, “As a boss, he assaulted the victim several times and repeatedly verbally abused and threatened him. The victim suffered almost every day and died at a young age. This case is an extreme case of workplace bullying or abuse of power in the workplace. He was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in prison and detained in court.

The prosecution requested that Mr. A’s appeal be dismissed, saying, “Given the circumstances, it appears that the defendant assaulted the victim habitually and that the victim died due to bullying at work, and his behavior was bad, including blaming the victim for the cause of death.” .
