Food poisoning occurred after eating an eel lunch box from a Japanese department store.

On the 24th, at the eel store at Keikyu Department Store in Yokohama, Japan.

More than 147 people were confirmed to have symptoms of food poisoning, including diarrhea and vomiting, after eating sold lunch boxes.

One person died.

The store where the incident occurred is Isesada, an eel restaurant located on the basement level of Keikyu Department Store in Yokohama.

An epidemiological investigation is being conducted at the local public health center.

The company in question, Isesada, has been suspended from business on the 29th.

The investigation revealed that the cooking staff at the time appeared to have cooked the food without wearing gloves according to the manual.

Keikyu Department Store executives held a press conference to officially apologize, and Isesada officials also officially apologized.
