James Webb Telescope discovers oldest galaxy ever observed

An international team of astronomers discovered through the James Webb Space Telescope

While working on a project to observe the oldest galaxies

Observe the galaxy with the longest redshift since the Big Bang (evidence that it is the oldest galaxy)

The galaxy is named JADES-GS-z14-0.

A galaxy created “only” 290 million years after the Big Bang.

What’s interesting is that even though this galaxy was created early in the Big Bang,

The fact that “red” stars were discovered means that oxygen existed even in the early days of the universe.

And it means that even at this time, the lifespan of the stars had already passed to some extent.
