Not many people know that since Syngman Rhee took the Korean government into his hands in 1948, he has prevented his aides and family from returning to or visiting Korea It lasted until 1963

(5)Syngman Rhee formed a Dongji Association to counter the bankruptcy of the Korean People’s Association, embezzled funds from the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea, and took away funds raised for the independence movement in Shanghai The Korean American Association United Korean Committee left many official reports on how Rhee interfered with the independence movement during the period from the early 1940s to after the Korean War The association could not participate in the Korea-U.S. alliance because it tried to steal the provisional government funds

(9)Kim Gu, who was president of the Provisional Government, was very close to Dosan’s family He was also a founding member of Dosan’s New People’s Association in the early 1900s and once promised to marry Ahn Shin-ho, Dosan’s younger sister Kim Gu once sent a message to my grandmother, and in 1941 he sent a Korean flag with praise for Dosan This flag is currently kept in the Independence Hall of Korea When the shocking news of Kim Gu’s assassination broke in 1949, no one in Dosan’s family thought that Rhee Syngman would be free from the responsibility It was because Rhee was well known for his corrupt ideology along with violent conflicts in Hawaii in the past Syngman Rhee tried to kill Park Yong-man during the Hawaii conflict in 1915 Park Yong-man worked for the Korean People’s Association at the time and was a close colleague of Dosan from 1897 until he was assassinated in 1928
