Kim is also the head of the Inter-Korean Trade Corporation, a small and medium-sized company that deals with North Korea.
Kim said in a telephone interview with Yonhap News that although there is controversy, his memoirs are about President Kim Il-sung’s activities from childhood to school days and anti-Japanese movements, so I think we can fully introduce them in Korea.Asked about concerns, including the controversy over the National Security Law, he replied, “I don’t think it’s a problem because South Korea doesn’t have a publishing permit system.” On copyright issues, he said, “We can discuss with the National Council for Reconciliation and Cooperation in North Korea by supporting economic cooperation projects.” The
published book, which was translated into many languages around the world, said it could be introduced to Korea belatedly, adding that it is a record of fighting against the harsh natural environment from the late 1920s to the day of liberation in 1945.
I also hope the publication of the book will awaken the nobility of the people and serve as an opportunity for inter-Korean reconciliation, adding that I promise to use the proceeds from the sale to fund the Unification Movement.
