Cultural Heritage Restored with Donation of RM BTS RM

(2)Joseon’s robes are now handed down not only domestically but also abroad The Cultural Heritage Administration and the Overseas Cultural Heritage Foundation are carrying out projects to support the preservation, restoration, and utilization of overseas cultural properties for the safe preservation and management of our cultural heritage overseas
(3)The robes, owned by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, are traditional wedding clothes from the Joseon Dynasty, which were recently revived through such efforts, especially with the sponsorship of RM Kim Nam-joon, the BTS, and the public and private sectors collaborated to preserve and utilize our cultural heritage
(4)The bow came back to Korea in October 2022 and underwent five months of preservation Through preliminary investigation, materials such as background fiber yarn and manufacturing methods were checked for preservation treatment, and some hidden embroidery patterns were found in the process As a result of the preservation treatment, the original background cloth and royal embroidery techniques such as bright red silk, lotus, peony, phoenix, and butterfly were revived to recreate the complete Joseon royal women’s wedding clothes
