Killed by a teenage couple I saw for the first time.
The body of Professor Chae Joon-seok, vice president of ASU engineering at Arizona State University, was found in a landfill.
After graduating from Korea University in 1998, Chae studied in the U.S. and received a master’s and doctorate from Michigan University, and was appointed to Arizona State University in 2005 to serve as vice president of research at the University of Technology. Chae, an expert in the field of biosensors, holds four U.S. patents and published more than 150 papers in various academic journals.
Professor Chae had a Korean wife and two children and lived in a quiet suburban complex in Scottsdale.
Professor Chae’s wife returned to Korea when her husband died, and Professor Chae was in charge of teaching Sunday school teachers in charge of the Ministry of Education at a local Korean church.
