I’ve been living in Korea since I was 8 years old, and I thought that I should pay back what I received from Korean society if I could become independent someday, and now I decided to officially apply for naturalization and become a member of the Korean people. And I wanted to tell this story first to the people who cherish and love me. That’s why I’m the first one to tell you my decision on my YouTube channel.
(3)One of the reasons I decided to become a naturalized citizen was my determination to join the military. I had this thought that when I was in high school, my friends used to joke around and say, “Aren’t you going to the military?”And then my friends joined the army one by one and came out on vacation, and they jokingly said different things. “We’ll protect the country, so if you can’t go to the army, don’t go.” I was so thankful to hear my friends say things that they really care about me. I was touched that my friends and Korea are protecting me like this is how I felt. So, on the contrary, I thought that I should help protect Korea, which loves my friends and me. There were a lot of people who were worried, but my friends told me that my military life would be hard. I know how precious a year and a half is. Thank you so much for your loving concern!
