It was built as the Alpine Skiing Stadium for the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.

It was built in the area of Gariwangsan Mountain in Jeongseon, but Gariwangsan Mountain was designated as a forest protection zone, causing controversy over environmental destruction at the time of construction.

After the controversy, the stadium was demolished and fully restored after the Olympics.

After the Olympics, Jeongseon-gun and local residents in Gangwon-do completely opposed the restoration.

Gangwon-do, Jeongseon-gun, and local residents should leave and use it as a tourist resource. Even if the slope is restored, the gondola cable car should remain.

Ministry of Environment Korea Forest Service and environmental organizations say that it should be completely demolished and restored as promised.

After years of fighting over this, Gondola eventually agreed to restore the temporary operating slope by the end of 2024.

It is highly likely that it will become noisy again after the temporary operation period ends again.

It started commercial operations in January this year, and the scenery is great.

The fare is 10,000 won for adults.
