KOVO promised to prevent recurrence. KOVO said, “We will continue to seek improvements in reading standards and procedures to prevent the same confusion from recurring in the future. In addition, we will continue to provide integrated training for expert committee members and referees and establish video reading standards to prevent recurrence of similar cases.”
He then announced, “In order to make objective and accurate decisions, KOVO plans to improve the video review system with the goal of introducing AI video reading technology that includes high-speed multi-angle image analysis, machine vision-based line reading, and player and ball position tracking algorithms in the 2026-27 season.”
