A Korean doctor who may have to study day and night for 33 years

——————

3 years of English kindergarten

Elementary, middle and high school + academy (medical school) 14 years

(assuming 3 moves)

8 years of college

(Considering repeating a grade due to an extremely difficult exam and taking a leave of absence due to burnout)

Intern residency 5 years

Military surgeon 3 years

=> Total 33 years

————–

The photo below shows how much an average medical student studies in a week.

Each page is filled with a huge amount of English text and handwriting, as shown below.

Even if you become a doctor, you cannot quit studying. The photo below shows the average monthly study volume of a private physician.

With this kind of intelligence and effort,

Working at a company like NVIDIA or OpenAI wouldn’t have been difficult at all.

If they had worked for such a big tech company, they would have received at least 2 billion won in annual salary.

However, the reality in Korea is

Even the Big 5 hospitals are in chronic deficit due to the appalling treatment of doctors.

So their choice

“”It’s enough for us to sacrifice ourselves””

A 30-year quota freeze that is unprecedented in other professions.

GOAT

I won’t forget your sacrifices
