The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has released a new, updated food pyramid.

In the new food pyramid revealed, red meat, cheese, vegetables, and fruits were placed at the top instead of the existing diet centered on grains and carbohydrates.

Rather than simply restricting calories or avoiding saturated fat, dietary policy has shifted to emphasizing the intake of protein, healthy fats, and unprocessed natural foods.
