A Thai woman who identified herself as a government employee anonymously shared her experience of being denied entry into Korea to a Korean travel group on social media. She spoke about her frustrating and incomprehensible experience during the immigration process.
In her post, the woman said she had made clear travel plans and had all the necessary documents ready, including proof of employment and proof of intent to return, but was denied entry upon arrival.
She said: “I am very disappointed and hurt by this trip. “The Korean Immigration Office did not provide a clear reason for the screening or decision,” he wrote. “I don’t know what made the female employee at the central desk especially angry, but she was rude to me for no reason.”
She added that she had prepared all the necessary documents and believed the purpose of her trip was legitimate.
““I had a clear travel plan, a stable job as a civil servant, and I had all the necessary documents ready,” she said. “But in the end, I was denied entry. If I had known in advance, I would have gone to Japan. I wouldn’t have wasted my time here.””
This woman said she was even more upset because she had already exchanged Korean won for travel expenses, but ended up not being able to spend a single penny.
It is widely known among Thai travelers that Korea’s immigration process is strict. Tourists are often advised to prepare detailed documentation, including hotel reservation confirmations, round-trip airline tickets, proof of employment, and proof of finances, to prove that they are bona fide tourists and intend to return home after their trip. .

Korean immigration authorities have not released an official statement on the incident. In accordance with international practice, immigration officers have the authority to deny entry to foreign nationals if they determine that the traveler does not meet the entry requirements, even if he or she holds a valid visa or meets formal documentation requirements.
