By age, unlike other generations, more people in their 20s and 30s responded that they did not agree with Coupang’s business suspension. Among those aged 18 to 29, 44% agreed versus 53% disagreed, and among those in their 30s, 48% agreed versus 50% disagreed. In the remaining age groups, agreement was nearly 30 to 40 percentage points higher than disagreement. Among those in their 60s and 70s or older, the percentages of don’t know and refusal to respond were 10% and 23%, respectively, which was higher than the overall average. By region, more respondents agreed in all regions, but the gap was relatively small in Seoul (49% vs. 45%) and Jeju (50% vs. 42%).

There were clear differences in responses depending on political orientation. The more progressive people were, the more they tended to agree with the suspension of Coupang’s operations. The ratio of agreement to disagreement was 74% to 21% among progressives, but 44% to 50% among conservatives. Among the moderates, the ratio was 63% to 32%.
