I made a rice sales stand.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced that it will operate a flash store selling Korean rice and processed foods on the first floor of the international terminal at Gimpo International Airport from the 12th to January 31st of next year.
The store sells about 30 types of products, including high-quality rice from 8 regions, small-package rice that is easy to carry, and processed foods made from rice, wheat, and soybeans.
High-quality rice preferred by consumers and products that won prizes at the Rice Processing Product Fair and K-Rice Festa were also included.
Foreign tourists can purchase small-package products right away. Large-capacity products can be checked as luggage on the 2nd floor.
Passengers departing from Japan can obtain a quarantine certificate immediately on site through a resident quarantine officer.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs plans to cooperate with the Korea Tourism Organization to provide souvenirs, such as processed rice products, to foreigners who have visited the country through social networking services (SNS).
There is still demand for Japanese rice because it is almost twice as expensive as Korean rice.
In addition, reluctance or laziness in obtaining quarantine documents when boarding a plane with rice was an obstacle.
It’s a really good idea that there’s a quarantine officer stationed at the store so they’ll fill out the paperwork right away when you buy it.
