The government has decided to expand the pan-ministerial task force it operates in relation to the Coupang personal information leak situation under the chairmanship of the Minister of Science and ICT.
The Ministry of Science and ICT announced this after a meeting of relevant ministries on the 25th. Attending the meeting on this day were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and ICT Bae Gyeong-hoon, ministers from related ministries such as the Fair Trade Commission, Personal Information Commission, Korea Communications Commission, and Financial Services Commission, the Second Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, the head of the Trade Negotiation Headquarters of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and the head of the Presidential Office’s Office of Policy.
At the meeting, attendees shared the current progress, future plans, and secondary damage prevention measures regarding Coupang’s personal information leak and consumer protection. The pan-ministerial task force, currently headed by Second Vice Minister of Science and ICT Ryu Je-myeong, also decided to expand its operation under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Bae.
