I think this will be my last post on Jjanggong.

It seems like everyone is distraught over Jjanggong’s closure. So, after being recommended another refugee camp, I found out about a place called ‘Itoland’, and I joined there and worked there for a short period of time. I would like to briefly share with the public what I felt while living in Etoland for 25 days. Since I’ve only seen it for such a short period of time, there may be things wrong with what people who have been doing ITO for a long time see. Ito, please take a look and correct it with your reply.

Similarities

1. The fundamentals are similar. It started as a shared file site, but as sanctions against illegal copies became more severe, it transformed into a pure community channel.

2. Therefore, the ages are also very similar. However, the spectrum seems to be a bit broader. The spectrum seems to be wide, from slightly younger people to slightly older people.

3. Social (political, religious) tendencies are very similar. For the same reason, the ratio of Buntang seeds also remains the same. They are always present wherever humans gather.

4. Our intellectual level and interests are also very similar. Even the trend of interest seems to be similar. In the past, I liked things like sharing and playing games, but as we all get older, we have to deal with childcare, insurance, cars, and unfortunately, hair loss (

5. Similar to Jjangong, it follows military ranks.

difference

1. Interface; Of course, the interface is different. It’s not as simple as Jjanggong, but it’s not so complicated that you can’t find what you’re looking for. The only thing that matters is that you’re not used to it.

2. Active control by managers; This is probably the biggest difference from Jjangong. There are clear sanctions against trolls. Additionally, censorship of adult posts is quite tight. Jjanggong is at a level where the manager has let go and there is no management, so it has become a waste of money. On the other hand, Ito is like a flower bed with a gardener. I can’t say there are no weeds at all, but I cut them down right away. If some of the famous trolls (known to those in the know) that can be seen in Jjanggong are active on Ito like they were before, they will be immediately sanctioned and expelled.

3. Threshold of accession; Jjanggong allows you to create infinite accounts without any restrictions as long as you have an email address. Therefore, it is fundamentally impossible to sanction Buntang seeds. Ito verifies your identity to some extent by signing up through KakaoTalk. Additionally, as a means to prevent trolling, there is a certain period of time for full-fledged activity after signing up.

4. Size of active user pool; First of all, the difference in population is overwhelming. Not only the number of registered accounts but also the actual number of active people is much higher. The amount of posts, recommendations, likes, and comments is much higher.

5. Rich content; Although it is small, there is a variety of content such as icons and attendance checks.

judgment

If you look at YouTube, you often come across such videos. There are videos of foreign travelers who thought this was normal in a country with terrible security, but are impressed by the security situation in Korea when they come to Korea. This is exactly what I felt after working at Ito. There were many systems (police) that I argued should exist in posts on Jjanggong. Of course, little has changed. However, all of these things are already well established in Ito. I think that’s why Ito survives and Chan-gong disappears. Of course, there are definitely inconveniences because the culture (content, interface) is different from the country (community) where you live. However, once you get used to the culture and system, the important thing is the people. In the end, a community is just a field that connects people on the Internet, and what is important is ultimately the person who controls that community and uses that community.

person

‘I think this is important.

For those who consider Jjanggong their cyber home, they want to be here whether they like it or not. But Jjanggong is destined to disappear soon. However, Jjanggong is disappearing, not the people who use it. I hope that no matter what community you go to or what job you do, you become a good person in a good place.
