Campbell Soup, a famous American canned soup manufacturer, is embroiled in controversy due to an executive who made a disparaging remark that “the consumers of our products are poor.”

According to CBS News on the 25th local time, Martin Valley, vice president of IT at Campbell Soup Company, referred to Campbell Soup as “”highly processed food for the poor” while discussing salaries with cybersecurity analyst Robert Garza in November of last year.

Campbell’s Soup is a product made by mixing cooked ingredients into a concentrated soup and selling it in cans.

Because of the advantage that anyone can easily use it as a meal replacement or cooking ingredient, it has been popular not only with consumers in the United States but also around the world since it was launched in the 1890s.
