[Herald Economy = Reporter Jang Yeon-ju] A unique taxi service that allows you to tour Daejeon’s popular bakeries at once has emerged and is attracting attention. ‘Bread taxis’ have recently appeared in Daejeon, known as the ‘city of bread.’ The price of the bread tour is 30,000 won for 2 hours.
The main character who runs ‘Bread Taxi’ is Mr. Ahn Seong-woo (63).
Mr. Ahn created the ‘Bread Taxi’ service after researching each and every famous place for bread in Daejeon. In addition to tasting bread and choosing recommended menu items, we also came up with a strategy to reduce waiting time in line. Efficiency was also taken into consideration by planning the itinerary in 3-minute increments.
The biggest feature of this taxi is that it is carefully designed so that passengers can eat and enjoy bread directly from the vehicle. There is a folding table in front of the seat, similar to those seen on trains and airplanes, and forks, plates, and cooling bags are also provided. In addition, data on bakeries in Daejeon compiled by the driver himself are added.
When passengers board the taxi, Mr. Ahn gives them a ‘welcome kit’ containing a brochure about Daejeon Bread, disposable plates and forks for eating, and an insulated bag. The folding tables found on airplanes and trains were incorporated into the bread taxi so that passengers could eat bread in the taxi while moving.
Inside the taxi, a ‘bread tour menu’ and various props were provided.
