Has AI actually reduced jobs?

Articles like these are just trash talk aimed at sucking up views by scaring people when Amazon, a major American company, announces cuts of tens of thousands of employees or Google announces cuts. So what about the increase or decrease in employees at really large companies?

I asked Jammini to research and create the graph. Chat GPT was released on November 30, 2022, and it became an issue among people, and the current atmosphere has grown significantly since then. As you can see from the graph, from then on, the number of people was reduced and increased, and it just went back and forth, not like it went downhill.

They say that if you are ignorant but have faith, there is no answer.

Research material title: evaluating the Impact of AI on the Labor Market: Current State of Affairs

Summary of data:

Although concerns about the impact of AI on today’s labor market are widespread, our data suggests that these concerns are still largely speculative. The labor market impact of AI revealed in our data primarily reflects stability rather than significant disruption across the economy. While generative AI is likely to join the ranks of innovative, general-purpose technologies, it is still difficult to predict how disruptive it will be on jobs. The lack of widespread impact at this early stage is similar to the pace of change in previous periods of technological innovation. Identifying areas of likely impact in advance and continuously monitoring the impact on a monthly basis will help you separate fact from rumor.
