Yeom Seung-i is making his debut as a lead actor in a feature film through the movie ‘Underground Idol (directed by Lee Soo-seong).’
‘Underground Idol’ is a work that depicts in a cheerful and comical way the desperate and struggling survival stories of underground world idols, not the flashy top idols, in an era when K-POP dominates the world. Yeom Seung-i plays the role of Seung-hyeon, a cross-dressing idol.
Seung-hyeon is usually a soft and gentle character, but when he dresses up as a man on stage, he becomes a tough and intense character. Yeom Seung-i will work with BZ BOYS members Choi Won-ho, Ha-min Lee, Dong-hwan Jeong, and Seung-hyeon Jeong to bring life to the play by skillfully switching between dual charms.
Also, attention is being paid to what kind of presence she will have as she plays a character who dreams of debuting as a girl group idol but suffers frustration after failing repeatedly at auditions. Instead of giving up, she searches for the last opportunity and makes the unconventional choice of disguising herself as a man and being accepted as a member of a boy group.
Yeom Seung-i, who is active across screen, stage, and TV, has built up a filmography by appearing in a variety of works across genres, including the play ‘Sheer Madness’, the web drama ‘Gaduri Raw Fish Restaurant’, the dramas ‘Please Stop Drinking’, ‘Queen Maker’, and the movie ‘Seoul Ghost Story’. The work will be released on the 20th.
