As drugs disguised as tea bags were discovered one after another on the coast of Jeju, 1.03 million people were killed for about 50 days.

The drug was confirmed. However, the investigation is experiencing difficulties as the source is unknown.

According to the Jeju Regional Coast Guard on the 13th, a substance presumed to be ketamine was found in a bag of oolong tea in Udo-myeon, Jeju the previous day. Like the previously discovered ketamine, it was packaged in tea bags of 1kg each. This marks the 12th drug disguised as a tea bag since 20kg of ketamine was discovered all at once in Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo at the end of September.

If the substance discovered on Udo Island the previous day is confirmed to be ketamine, enough doses to be administered to about 1.03 million people at the same time would have flowed in from the Jeju coast alone for about 50 days. It is unprecedented for large quantities of drugs to be discovered one after another in such a short period of time.

However, the investigation is currently at a standstill as the inflow route is unknown. The possibility that it arrived at the coast of Jeju via ocean currents from nearby Southeast Asia is being discussed. This is because the spots where it was discovered are concentrated on the northern coast of Jeju, tea packaging floats in the sea, and drugs disguised as tea packets were cracked down in Cambodia last April.
