According to the legal community on the 2nd,

The 4th Criminal Division of the Jeon District Court recently sentenced defendant A, who was indicted on charges of fraud and obstruction of business, to one year in prison.

Less than a week after being released from prison after serving a sentence for fraud last March, Mr. A visited a real estate agent’s office in Daejeon to get a meal. He took 50,000 won in cash by deceiving him by saying, “My grandson is here and I want to give him pocket money. If you lend me 50,000 won, I will repay you right away.” However, as he had no steady income or assets, he had no intention or ability to repay the money.

Mr. A also had a walk-in meal. At one restaurant, I ate 3 bowls of bone hangover soup and 2 bottles of soju worth 40,000 won and did not pay the bill. A few days later, he ordered and ate food worth 16,000 won from another restaurant and then ran away. In the afternoon of the same day, he left at another chicken restaurant, pretending to pay normally.

He also repeatedly made false orders that disrupted restaurant business without any reason. Last March, a rice cake shop called to order rice cakes, but they never showed up. On the same day, about 10 minutes later, he called the snack shop and placed a false order, saying, “I will order 100 rolls of kimbap,” causing the store owner to throw away the actual kimbap he had made.

The court judged this act to be a crime of obstruction of business. The court pointed out, “The defendant caused damage to the victims by having them prepare food and rice cakes through false orders,” and added, “This is an obstruction of business due to a clear hierarchy.”

At the same time, the ruling said, “The defendant is in poor health due to his old age and the amount of damage is not large, but there is a high possibility of blame due to repeated crimes of drunken eating and false orders, and recovery of damages has not been achieved.”
