Due to the application of scientific training facilities, the national reserve force training centers are scheduled to be consolidated into 40 locations in 2027.

As a result, it was found that the movement distance of reserve forces in Gyeongsangbuk-do and Gangwon-do increased significantly.

Among them, there were two areas where travel distances increased significantly: Uljin-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do and Taebaek-si, Gangwon-do.

Starting in 2027, reserve forces soldiers residing in Uljin-gun must travel 120km to receive training at Andong Reserve Forces Training Center.

It has been confirmed that it takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes by car and 2 hours and 45 minutes by public transportation.

Reserve soldiers residing in Taebaek City must also travel 140km to receive training at the Manjong Reserve Force Training Center in Wonju.

2 hours by car, 5 hours and 30 minutes by public transportation.

Accordingly, the Ministry of National Defense announced that it would pay additional transportation expenses for reservists who will have to travel more than 30 km due to the consolidation of training centers.
