I was shocked that the guy passed. All the other Italian chefs chose fresh noodles.
I haven’t watched all of episode 2 yet, but I can’t believe no one is talking about Steak Guy and Aglio Olio Guy.I can understand the steak guy’s point of view, but the aglio olio guy… I guess we’ll see how many Italians fainted when they saw that.

In many cases, dry noodles are preferred over fresh noodles, especially to achieve an al dente texture. The chef wanted the noodles to be al dente to the point of undercooking them, so the prototype pasta would be better here. Most top restaurants in Italy use dry pasta for dishes like aglio olio, and fresh noodles for pasta like ragu. Gordon Ramsay can’t be the standard for all cuisines. (He’s not Italian) Dry pasta is better for the al dente texture, and there wasn’t enough time to pull out and dry the fresh noodles.Using a prototype in a cooking competition!
