Caught after setting up a living room outdoors

The two new second lieutenants were discovered by a non-commissioned officer on patrol after meeting at an unused guard post in the unit while on holiday. The guard post was lined with military blankets and equipped with living facilities such as backpacks and snacks.

They developed a close relationship by receiving training together since last March after being commissioned as officers, and it is known that they had a private meeting at an empty guard post when going out and staying out was restricted due to COVID-19.

There is no provision prohibiting private relationships among officers in the current Basic Act on Status and Service of Soldiers. Rather, Article 13 stipulates that ‘the state shall ensure that the confidentiality and freedom of soldiers’ private lives are guaranteed to the maximum extent possible while living in the barracks.’

[Reaction of netizens who saw this]

1. We can’t go out overnight due to the coronavirus, so it’s harsh to not allow us to date.

2. Who cares what you do on holiday?

3. The NCO who leaked the photo is even more evil.
