Passengers at the station saved a 4-year-old due to a mother’s screams in the subway

At Chungmuro Station, a child who was getting off the subway fell between the train and the platform, but passengers worked together to save the child safely

According to witnesses, a four-year-old boy got off at Chungmuro Station with his mother and brother on the way to Daehwa around 1 p.m. on the 27th and fell into a gap between the subway and the station

Several passengers in the same car, who heard their mother’s scream, blocked the subway door from closing and reached into the gap where the child was missing and rescued the child in about 20 seconds

Witness Kang, 48, said, “The subway stopped and the door opened, but I was embarrassed because I heard a sudden scream and thought it was a knife rampage,” adding, “Fortunately, the passengers pulled the child out right away and saved him.”

Chungmuro Station resumed operation of the subway in about five minutes after confirming that the situation had been settled
