Actor Ahn Sung-gi passed away at the age of 74 at 9 am on January 5, 2026.
Actor Ahn Seong-ki was a person who has been part of the history of Korean pop culture with a deep sense of duty and unwavering sincerity in acting.
His acting has always been directed toward people and life, and through his numerous works, he has conveyed deep resonance and comfort across eras and generations.
In particular, before being an actor, actor Ahn Seong-gi was a ‘national actor’ in the true sense of the word, who valued his dignity and responsibility as a person above all else and respected senior and junior artists and the field.
Artist Company is deeply saddened by the sudden news, prays for the soul of the deceased, and extends our sincere condolences to the bereaved family.
The funeral will be held at a movie theater hosted by the Shin Young-kyun Arts and Culture Foundation and the Korean Film Actors Association. Four people, including honorary funeral committee chairman Shin Young-kyun, director Bae Chang-ho, Korea Screen Actors Association Chairman Lee Gap-seong, Shin Young-kyun Arts and Culture Foundation acting director Shin Eon-sik, and Korean Film Actors Association Chairman Yang Yun-ho, will serve as co-chairs of the funeral committee.
Here, actors Lee Jeong-jae and Jung Woo-sung and other filmmakers send the deceased off on his final journey. The funeral will be held in room 31 of the funeral hall at Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital, the funeral will be held at 6 a.m. on January 9 (Friday), and the burial site will be Yangpyeong Byeoldrida.
