According to multiple entertainment and legal sources on the 2nd, suspect A, who broke into Nana’s home in November of last year and committed robbery and was arrested on charges of aggravated robbery, filed a complaint against Nana during the recent investigation. It has been reported that they are claiming that Nana’s actions during the subjugation process amounted to ‘attempted murder.’
Mr. A, who is currently on trial, is said to have recently recanted his statement, unlike his admission of the crime at the beginning of the investigation. Mr. A claims, “I did not possess a weapon at the time of the crime, and I never injured the victims.”
It is said that Nana’s side initially considered leniency considering Mr. A’s young age. However, after learning of Mr. A’s counter-accusation, we established the principle of ‘no agreement’. Separately from the ongoing trial, Nana’s side plans to use all available legal measures against Mr. A, such as filing a false accusation, to hold him accountable until the end.
The injuries inflicted by Nana and her mother while subduing the armed Mr. A were previously recognized as self-defense. Mr. A’s counter-complaint is deplorable on Nana’s side and cannot help but be regarded as a ‘criminal accusation’.
According to the results of the investigation announced by the police earlier, Mr. A, who broke into Nana’s home, threatened Nana’s mother, who he encountered inside the house, with a weapon and demanded money. Nana, who woke up after hearing a scream, went out to save her mother, and in the process got into a physical fight with Mr. A. As a result, Nana suffered injuries, and her mother also suffered injuries, including being strangled by Mr. A, and received hospital treatment. Mr. A suffered a laceration to his chin caused by a weapon.
Based on the statements of the victim and the suspect, the police determined that the actions of Nana, mother and daughter constituted self-defense as specified in Article 21, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Act. A police official said, “It was investigated that there was actual infringement on the victims, and that no serious injuries were inflicted on the suspects in the process of defending themselves.”
One legal expert predicted, “Robbery causing injury is a serious crime with a higher statutory penalty than murder,” and added, “For a suspect who has already been arrested to file a counter-indictment for attempted murder, etc., appears to be a strategy to reduce the sentence by raising controversy over self-defense in the trial.”
Meanwhile, Nana, who suffered a great psychological shock from this incident, is trying to pull herself together and carry out her scheduled schedule. Nana’s side said, “We have gone through a difficult time due to recent events, but we hope to resume our activities thanks to the warm support and encouragement we have received from our fans.”
